Pipeline hero Kim Reynolds wins award for improving the mental health of mothers

DES MOINES - Kim Reynolds might be the most-disliked governor in the nation, and she just might be all for allowing a big corp to install a toxic pipeline through your front yard, but she is winning awards for allegedly reforming maternity care payments in Iowa, a real prestigious honor. "Governor Reynolds is being recognized for ... ensuring maternity care providers are paid adequately and no longer paid a flat rate for all care they provide," the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health claims.

DES MOINES – Kim Reynolds might be the most-disliked governor in the nation, and she just might be all for allowing a big corp to install a toxic pipeline through your front yard, but she is winning awards for allegedly reforming maternity care payments in Iowa, a real prestigious honor.

“I’m honored to be named the 2025 Policy Center Maternal Mental Health Hero for the groundbreaking work we are doing in Iowa to improve maternity care,” said Kim Reynolds, who is not running for re-election and is America’s most-disliked governor.

Reynolds, who yesterday vetoed a bill from her own Republican party that protected individual property rights from aggressive toxic pipeline builders, claims to be a big advocate for mothers (unless they take SNAP benefits or have fat kids, then she wants to police their food intake) somehow says she is improving health care in Iowa, whcih is commonly known as a huge mess.

“We are raising Medicaid maternal rates, bringing more doctors to Iowa, and increasing our investment in loan repayment programs to ensure healthcare access to new mothers, as well as Iowans in every corner of the state,” Reynolds said today as she cuddled her wooden plaque.

“Governor Reynolds is being honored for reforming maternity care, including payment, in Iowa,” said the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health (a tax-exempt social change organization), a real bonus to the common Iowan that will really improve lives.

“Governor Reynolds is being recognized for her leadership in transforming maternity care, including looking at ensuring maternity care providers are paid adequately and no longer paid a flat rate for all care they provide,” the outfit continued.

This article has to have come from her office. She was given a plaque. Our state earned a C- overall in supporting maternal mental health. We received 8 checks out of 21 categories. She just needed a win after her disaster yesterday. https://policycentermmh.org/state-report-cards/#viewreportcard
