Jordan Lee Rawlings, 35, of Forest City, IA, passed away unexpectedly, June 10, 2025 at Mayo Clinic in Austin.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday June 17, 2025 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA 50401. Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mosaic, 102 West Park St., Forest City, Iowa 50436.
Jordan was born July 27, 1989 in Mason City, IA, son of Thomas and DeeAnn VanWey. He graduated from Clear Lake High School. Jordan was always a happy person and loved to tease those around him. He had a great sense of humor and is best remembered as one of kindest people around. Jordan was always compassionate to others during their time of loss; ensuring them “They’re with the Lord now”. Though his loss comes to us too soon, Jordan can rest easy with the Lord like those before him. He loved his family and his proudest moment was becoming an uncle. He was so excited for his nephew’s arrival. Jordan’s passion for monster trucks and playing cards was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of his love for life’s simple pleasures and his remarkable ability to find joy in every moment. His extensive collection of hundreds of decks of cards and toy models was a testament to his dedication and the childlike wonder that he carried with him throughout his life. Known for his intelligence, Jordan possessed a memory that amazed those around him, often being described as almost photographic in its precision.
His compassion for others lead Jordan to becoming an organ donor and his donations through LifeSource will go one to help hundred of others.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tom and DeeAnn; sister Hillary (Luke) Boner; brother, Barry Rawlings; grandparents, Irma (Larry) VanWey; nephew, William; step sister, Amber Rawlings Carlson and family; caregiver, Connie Gremmer; her son Nate Gremmer and his children, Keegan, Daphne, and Dawson; special friends, Shawn and family; as well as many other friends and extended family.
