
According to Mason City police, on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:24 AM, the Mason City Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Hart Brothers Weaponry at 613 South Federal Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the front door open. Upon entering, they found a smashed display case that was missing several weapons.
Based on the follow-up investigation, search warrants were obtained for four Mason City
residences and two vehicles. During the execution of the warrants, seven handguns were
recovered – six of which were stolen in the burglary at Hart Brothers.
Currently, the following charges have been filed in this investigation:
• LaDanian Pannhoff, age 18, Mason City
o Theft 4th Degree
o Trafficking Stolen Weapons, first offense
• Parker Thompson, age 19, Mason City
o Conspiracy to Commit Nonforcible Felony
o Trafficking Stolen Weapons, first offense

• Dayce Nixon, age 19, Mason City
o Trafficking Stolen Weapons, first offense

• A 17-year-old male – currently placed in detention
o Burglary 3 rd Degree
o Trafficking Stolen Weapons, first offense
The Mason City Police Department was assisted today by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s
Office, the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE), the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force.
