JoAnn Marie Treanor, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Heritage Care Center. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 5, 2025 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

JoAnn Marie Treanor, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Heritage Care Center.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 5, 2025 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, with Pastor Paul Martin officiating. Burial will take place at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 9:00 AM at the funeral home.

JoAnn was born on May 27, 1936, in Iowa City, the daughter of Anna (Beckjordan) and Charles Kunzman of Mason City. She was a graduate of Mason City High School’s Class of 1953. Afterwards she attended NIACC for two years. For 27 years JoAnn devoted her working life to Plumb Supply in Mason City, where she retired at age 65.

Her early marriage to Clarence Jr. Ward ended in divorce. She later married Richard Treanor who later passed in 2005. The couple enjoyed many years together camping, going to breakfast with friends, and road trips to casinos.

In her free time she liked socializing at the Senior Citizens Center, having dinner and loved to play bingo. JoAnn also cherished going to the Riverside Church with friends. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Melody (Tim) Harty of Nora Springs; daughter-in-law, Denise Ward; grandchildren, Stacy (Brandon) Lynch, Randy (Sammie) Ward, Frank Ward, Shane Ward, Brandon Ward, Angel Ward and Matt Ward Jr.; many great grandchildren; as well as other extended relatives and friends.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; children, Terry Ward, Gary Ward, and Matt Ward; and sister, Jean Carolus.

The family would like to give a special thanks to those at Heritage Care Center as well as the St. Croix Hospice nurses and aides.
