Daryl Speich, 65 of Algona, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Algona. Services will be live streamed via Lentz Funeral Home’s website. Interment will take place at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Daryl James Speich, the son of Robert James and Karen Kay (Imhoff) Speich, was born on July 31, 1959, in Algona, Iowa. He was baptized at Ottosen Lutheran Church and affirmed his baptism in 1975 though the Rite of Confirmation at First Lutheran Church in Algona. Daryl attended Algona Schools and graduated in 1978. On June 26, 1982, Daryl was united into marriage to Leah Diane Jenkinson at First Lutheran Church in Algona.

Daryl enjoyed being outside, mowing many lawns around town, attending weekly races in Algona, spending time with his dogs who were near and dear to his heart and attending his son’s Pro Wrestling events. In his earlier years, Daryl was honored to attend a Special Olympics even in Des Moines and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Left to cherish Daryl’s memory are his son: Anthony Speich of Algona; father: Robert Speich of Algona; siblings: Kevin Speich of Algona and Leann Boyken (Harlan Tulp) of Belmond; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Leah; mother: Karen Speich; parents-in-law; brother-in-law; sister-in-law and many aunts and uncles.
