WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States welcomed home Faye Hall, an American who was released from Afghanistan just this weekend, and she glowingly gave credit to President Trump for her freedom.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio today confirmed that Faye Hall has been released by the Taliban in Afghanistan after being taken hostage in February.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Government of Qatar for its support of American citizens in need and we thank the European Union delegation in Kabul for their assistance,” Rubio said.

“President Trump’s strength, leadership, and commitment to the American people is clear — we will not rest until all Americans detained in Afghanistan, and held hostage around the world, are brought home.”

Hall had been captured along with a British couple, who were trying to help educated girls in Afghanistan after the Taliban took control over the war-torn region upon the withdrawal of American forces under former President Joe Biden. The Taliban has banned girls from attending school past 6th grade, reportedly.

The White House released a video statement from Hall:

“I’m glad you’re the President, and thank you for bringing me home. I have never been so proud to be an American citizen. Thank you, Mr. President.”

Reportedly, four Americans have been freed from  captivity in Afghanistan since President Trump took office.
