
AMES – The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking citizen input on proposed improvements along U.S. 69 from 3rd Street South to 3rd Street North in the City of Belmond, and a public hearing is scheduled.
Changes include:
Removing and replacing the existing sidewalks.
Upgrading curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) design requirements.
During construction, through traffic will be maintained with single-lane closures in each direction. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2026 and end in the fall of 2026.
