OBIT: Linda Karen Landheer

Linda Karen Landheer, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Mercy One Medical Center North Iowa. A memorial service for Linda will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Schott Funeral Home.

Linda Karen Landheer, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Mercy One Medical Center North Iowa.

A memorial service for Linda will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St., Forest City, Iowa 50436 with Pastor Curt Gallmeyer of the Church of Christ in Mason City officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the the funeral home on Saturday. Following the service, the family welcomes anyone who would like to join them at Shooterz Bar & Grill. (Tickets will be on your own please).

The burial of the cremains will take place in Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Linda K. Landheer memorial fund in care of the family.

Linda Karen Landheer was born July 31, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Bert & Clara Larson. Linda graduated from Rake High School in 1961.

Linda and Don were united in marriage on August 17, 1963, in Thompson, Iowa. They raised two sons, John & Jeff, in rural Buffalo Center.

Don & Linda farmed in rural Buffalo Center and later, in 1993, moved to Des Moines where Linda worked as a bank teller and later after moving back to Northern Iowa, she enjoyed working in the cage at Diamond Jo Casino until her retirement in the fall of 2024. In Linda’s free time, she thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and had a love for Elvis that took her to many of his “Impersonation Shows”. She collected anything she could, that was Elvis or cats. Linda had a gift for making friends with everyone she met and thrived on being out and about with friends & family. The things she loved most were spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren every chance she could.

She is survived by her Son, Jeff Landheer; Grandchildren, Heather (Luke) Brown, Wayne Landheer & girlfriend Crystal Bronson, Jennifer (Michael) Christ; Great-Grandchildren, Zach Brown, Lexi (Chase) Hoch, Jayda Taha, Trinity Landheer-Campbell, Morgan and Michael Jace Christ; Brother, James (Jim) Larson and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Landheer in 2024; parents-in-law, Lewis & Jennie Hartman; parents, Bert & Clara Larson, Son and Daughter-in-Law, John and Pam Landheer; Brother and Sister-in-Law, Alvin and Joyce Landheer and Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law, Wallace & Doretta Logemann.
