INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Northern Iowa man for drunk driving, child endangerment, open container, and other offenses.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at approximately 1:50 PM, Buchanan County sheriff’s deputies arrested 39-year-old Nasmin Evener Rodriguez-Zelaya (pictured at top) of Oelwein, Iowa.
Rodriguez-Zelaya was charged with the following offenses:
– First offense Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor)
– Child Endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor)
– Open Container
– No Valid Driver License
– Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance
This arrest was made following a traffic stop near Second Avenue and Second Street NE in Independence, Iowa.
