Rebecca (Becky) was born to Ralph and Patricia Dahlen on August 30, 1953 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Becky was a graduate of Lake Mills High School in Lake Mills, Iowa class of 1971. Following graduation, she completed nurses training at NIACC in Mason City, Iowa.

Becky married Ron Hagen in July of 1973 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, Iowa. In the early years of marriage, Becky worked as a nurse at Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa, and then spent the majority of her professional years as a nurse at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake Mills, Iowa, where she retired in 2013. Becky had a great affection for her patients and their families, and is remembered by so many as a kind, selfless, gentle nurse that loved her patients and community.

In 1977, Becky was blessed with her son Brian, and in 1981 with daughter Allison. The Hagen family spent most of their years living outside of Joice, Iowa as an active family in the Lake Mills Community. In 2004, Ron and Becky moved to Forest City, Iowa where they have since enjoyed their retirement years together.

Becky loved to plant and tend to her flowers, marvel at the cardinals and birds in the backyard, travel with family and friends, provide and pray for others, and live for her grandson Palmer. “Ahma” prayed to receive her grandchild for years and cherished every minute they spent together.

Becky was a faithful woman of God who put others first, always. She was a loyal and active member of First Baptist Church in Forest City, Iowa. She was a prayer warrior, and amidst her own battle with cancer, prayed for the health of others before her own. Becky loved life and lived with the desire to enjoy every moment.

Becky is survived by her husband Ron Hagen, sister Lynn (Dahlen) Dirks, brother Kermit Dahlen and sister-in-law Mari (Gersmehl) Dahlen, brother Patrick Dahlen, sister-in-law Melissa (Hagen) Philips and brother-in-law Greg Philips, sister-in-law Dawn (Anderson) Hagen, son Brian Hagen and daughter-in-law Jamie (Nesbitt) Hagen, daughter Allison Hagen, and her precious grandson Palmer Hagen. Becky is also survived by her mother-in-law Lavonne (Jensen) Hagen, and several loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Becky is preceded in death by her father Ralph Dahlen, mother Patricia (Torgeson) Dahlen, sister Klareese (Dahlen) Thorson, father-in-law Raymond Hagen, and brother-in-law Terry Hagen.
