ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN – Iowa (19-9, 9-8) defeated Michigan (19-9, 10-7), 79-66, Wednesday evening at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Sydney Affolter set a new career-high with 24 points and 11 rebounds. It was Affolter’s first career 20+ point game.
Affolter has notched a double-double in six out of the last 11 games. (Team-high) Affolter has reached double digits 12 times this year and in seven of the last eight games.
Affolter registered a game-high 14 points in the first quarter going a perfect 5-of-5 from the field with four 3-pointers.
Affolter is the fourth Hawkeye to record 20+ points this season.
Over the last nine games, Affolter is shooting 62 percent from 3-point range. (18-29)
Affolter has 10+ rebounds in five out of the last six games.
Affolter has snatched double digit rebounds a team-best eight times this season.
Lucy Olsen recorded 20 points, 4-of-6 (3FG), five rebounds, and three assists.
Olsen grabbed her 500th career rebound and it was her 39th career game with 20+ points and 10th as a Hawkeye.
In the first half Olsen recorded 16 points and was 4-of-4 from 3-point range.
Hannah Stuelke added 13 points (5-6 FT) and five rebounds.
Iowa shot 75 percent (9-12) from three and 58 percent (19-33) from the floor in the first 20 minutes of action.
The Hawkeyes recorded 49 points in the first half which is the third most this season against a Big Ten foe. (50, twice)
