Mary Ann Wellik, 97, passed away on February 2, 2025 at Westview Care Center in Britt, IA.

A funeral mass will be said at 10:00 AM on February 8, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church, 906 W. O St, Forest City, IA 50436 with Fr Jim Secora officiating the mass.

The family invites you to the fellowship hall for lunch and time for fellowship immediately following the committal service.

Visitation will be at St. James Catholic Church from 4-7 pm on February 7, 2025 for family and friends, and continuing an hour before mass at St. James Catholic Church on February 8th. A public rosary will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday.

Mary Ann was born January 17, 1928 to Simon and Anastasia Stoll of Hospers, Iowa. She was a member of St. Anthony Church in Hospers and attended and graduated from St. Anthony’s school in Hospers, IA.

On October 1, 1966, she was united in marriage to Clarence Wellik at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Mankato, MN. To this union three sons were born – Jeffrey Alyn, Kevin Lynn, and Kyle Mark. They lived their entire married life in the Forest City area, wintering in Arizona for the last 23 years.

Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved baking for people and her apricot kolaches were truly the best! In her spare time, she also loved to go fishing, camping, dancing, playing cards, and tending to her garden. She especially loved to be with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 58 years, Clarence Wellik of Forest City; children, Jeff (Kathy) Wellik of Story City, IA, Kevin (Jackie) Wellik of Lake Panorama, IA and Trubuc, CA, and Kyle (Val) Wellik of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Kaylee (Bryce) Phillips Wellik of Ames, IA, and Megan (Austin) Bachman of Waukee, IA; step granddaughters, Alyssa (Tyler) Johansen, Nina (Adam) Wiedner, Kayla (James) Howell, and step grandson Nico DeMaria; step great granddaughters Avianna, Elizabeth, and Olive; two sisters, Dorothy and Delores; and many nieces and nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Anastasia; three brothers, John, Joe, and Charles; and five sisters Margaret, Cele, Irene, Rose, and Agnes.
