Alan Petersen, age 44 of Swea City, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial service will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is assisting the family.
Alan Joseph Petersen, the son of Ronald Lynn and Elizabeth “Liz” Ann (Henry) Petersen, was born on September 24, 1980 in Algona, Iowa. He attended Five Island Alternative High School. Alan enjoyed racing, WWE wrestling, cars, fishing, cooking, watching baseball games, and spending time with family.
Left to cherish Alan’s memory is his father, Ronald of Fenton; brothers, Cody (Ted Foxhoven) Petersen of Graettinger and Riley Petersen of Fenton; son, Gaje Petersen of Algona; girlfriend, Stephanie Priester of Swea City; step-son, Talan Priester of Swea City; aunts and uncles, Janet (Doug) Penning of Algona, Kathy Petersen of Martensdale, Linda Petersen of Algona, Berte of Wisconsin, DC of Swea City, and Ethel Mae of Titonka; and many other cousins, nephews, and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth “Liz” Petersen, and grandparents, Dean and Martha Henry and Vivian and Harold Petersen.
