Christopher Michael Higgins, 46 of Forest City, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Chris’s unexpected passing comes as a shock to his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone who are still reeling at the loss.
Upon his wishes he will be cremated and Celebration of Life services will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his wife Jenny in care of the family.
Chris was born on December 15, 1978 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He attended Forest City Schools and was active in football, track, and wrestling. He went to State Wrestling for two years in High School and placed second in his senior year. Chris taught his wrestling skills to little kids after he graduated.
Chris worked for Leland Woodworks in Leland and then began to work at 3M in Forest City until his death. Last year marked his 20th year at 3M. He married Jennifer Sandry on September 13, 2003 in Forest City, IA. The two of them made their home around the Forest City area.
Anyone that knew Chris knew that he was a hard-working and dedicated individual. He took great pride in all that he did. Chris’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
Chris is survived by his wife, Jenny; fur baby, Arlo; mother, Michal Higgins of Leland; mother- and father-in- law, Jeannie & Jerry Sandry of rural Forest City; grandmother, Arlis Higgins of Titonka; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Duane & Doris Higgins; grandparents-in-law, Clarence & Arlene Sandry and Dennis & Norma Ungs; cousin, Nathan Higgins; his loving fur-baby, Norman; and many other great aunts, great uncles, and more.
