Jeanine Brown, 73, of Rockwell, passed away on December 23, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City after a brief illness.
Born on February 11, 1951, in Hampton, Iowa, Jeanine was the only child of Darrold and Shirley (Peterson) Arrowwood.
Jeanine graduated as valedictorian of her high school class in Hampton and earned her teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where she graduated as salutatorian. In 1974, she married David Brown, and together they raised two children, Daina and Tim. Jeanine was a loving grandmother and cherished her time with her three grandchildren, Emersyn, Ryann, and Everett.
A lifelong learner and educator, Jeanine pursued a degree in accounting at Hamilton Business School after her children’s younger years. Her talents led to an offer for a teaching position, which she enjoyed for many years before retiring.
Jeanine had a passion for gardening, cooking, and reading. She and David took great pride in their vegetable garden, especially the tomatoes they grew to make fresh juice for their daily breakfasts.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Rockwell Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jeanine’s honor may be made to Rockwell-Swaledale EMS.
Jeanine will be deeply missed by her husband, David; children, Daina (Mark) Hewitt, Mason City and Tim (Karen) Brown, Rockwell; grandchildren, Emersyn, Ryann, and Everett; as well as extended family members and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Darrold and Shirley Arrowwood.
