Young Northern Iowa adults face felonies after alleged park vandalism

SAC CITY, IOWA - Four young Northern Iowa adults allegedly entered a park in this remote town and went to work on some trees, causing thousands in damages, and now face the wrath of the law.

SAC CITY, IOWA – Four young Northern Iowa adults allegedly entered a park in this remote town and went to work on some trees, causing thousands in damages, and now face the wrath of the law.

On November 27, 2024, the Sac City Police Department investigated a report of vandalism at Riverview (Lions) Park in Sac City, Iowa. The vandalism consisted of several trees being spray painted with red and black spray paint. An estimate of the total damage was approximately $3,500.00.

After an investigation, The Sac City Police Department charged the following with felony vandalism crimes:

Kali Huegerich, age 18 of Sac City, was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Rylee Pearl, age 20 of Sac City, was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony. She has entered a plea of not guilty and awaits further court appearances.

Tarissa Shull, age 19 of Sac City, was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Damien Briner, age 19 of Sac City, was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Police say this case is still under investigation and more charges may follow.

Somehow I doubt that “spray painting the bark on a couple of trees for homecoming” is worthy of being a freaking felony. 
Pigs are a disgrace

Pretty late in the year for a Homecoming. I agree that a felony is excessive.
