OBIT: Terry Eugene Nolton

Terry E. Nolton, age 78 of Forest City, IA, passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home on Christmas Eve. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Terry E. Nolton, age 78 of Forest City, IA, passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home on Christmas Eve.

Terry Eugene Nolton was born on November 19, 1946 in Buffalo Center, IA to parents William and Henrietta (Hagenson) Nolton. The family grew up in Thompson, IA and he graduated from Thompson High School. Throughout High School, he enjoyed working at his father’s café in town – Bill’s Café.

Terry married Patricia Jane (Woltz) in 1965 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union, two children were born: Julie and Bill. The family enjoyed going on many short trips together. Terry began working at Forester (later Winnebago) for a few years before working for the City of Forest City working in the power plant, where he was employed for 39 years until his retirement in 2009. In his free time, Terry enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving, painting and drawing, and enjoyed the companionship of his many pets at home throughout the years. Terry was always very proud of his grandchildren, and cherished moments spent with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie (Doug) Price of Forest City, IA; son, Bill (Wendy) Nolton of Forest City, IA; grandchildren, Jared (Chelsea) Price of Thornton, IA, Derek (Kristina) Price of Cedar Falls, IA, Alexander Nolton of Fairbanks, AK, Tyler Nolton of Cedar Falls, IA, and Sam Nolton of Forest City, IA; a great-grandson, Milo Price; sisters in-law, Dorothy Nolton of Thompson, IA, Karen Catoe of West Palm Beach, FL; brother in-law, Jerry (Millie) Woltz of West Palm Beach, FL; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; both parents, William and Henrietta; father and mother in-law, Gerald and Loretta Woltz; brother, David Nolton; sister in-law, Deeann (Gary) Daily; brother in-law, Gerald Woltz; niece, Lori Hilmer, and a nephew, Kevin Daily.

Terry’s wishes were to have cremation take place, and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Forest City, IA.
