Lisa Hedrick, 65, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City. Lisa bravely fought Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer for 5 years after being diagnosed in 2019.

Born on March 10, 1959, in Oak Park, Illinois, Lisa was the eldest daughter of Joyce Schneiderbauer and the late Arno Schneiderbauer (Western Springs, Illinois).

Lisa graduated from Lyons Township High School in Western Springs, Illinois, in 1977. She went on to Iowa State University, initially pursuing pre-veterinary studies before earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1982. While at Iowa State, Lisa met the love of her life, Tim Hedrick, whom she married on May 29, 1982, in Western Springs, Illinois.

Lisa began her professional career as the Laboratory Director for North Central Professional Laboratories in Mason City from June 1982 to September 1984. She later worked as an Account Executive/Medical Specialist at Management Recruiters of Mason City from September 1984 to March 1986. From March 1986 to 1994, Lisa excelled as a Sales Representative for the Upjohn Company. Her dedication to her career inspired her to return to school, earning her second Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines in 1996. That same year, she became a board-certified Physician Assistant.

Lisa’s career in healthcare spanned 27 years, from 1997 to 2024, during which she served patients at the Mason City Clinic, Mercy Hospital Internal Medicine, and MercyOne Dermatology. She retired in March 2024, leaving behind a legacy of care and compassion.

Lisa was always incredibly active. She competed in biathlons, triathlons, the 1999 Chicago Marathon, and participated in RAGBRAI for many years. She loved going on cross-country motorcycle trips with friends, scuba diving, skiing, attending concerts and music festivals, and gardening. Her most cherished memories, however, were simply those of spending time with her family and friends.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tim Hedrick, and her beloved daughters, Taylor Henry (Michael) and Lauren Bengtson (Chris). She was affectionately known as “Lolly,” to Taylor’s children, Harrison (5) and Sawyer (23 months), and Lauren’s son, Perry (2); she is also survived by her mother, Joyce Schneiderbauer; sisters, Carol Wasz and Joan Dannacher, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arno Schneiderbauer.

Lisa’s family will greet relatives and friends at a visitation on Friday evening, January 10, 2025 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City from 4 pm until 7 pm.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 5th St SE, Mason City, with Rev. Dave O’Connor as Celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of North Iowa or the Cancer Research Institute.
