Elderly Clear Lake driver hurt in vehicle rollover Tuesday morning

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A 92-year-old Clear Lake woman put her car in a ditch Tuesday morning and had to be extricated from the wreckage by emergency responders.

A vehicle driven by 92-year-old Virginia Vorland of Clear Lake was eastbound on Wheelerwood Avenue and lost control and entered the south ditch ending up on the drivers side of the vehicle. The driver had to be extricated by the Clear Lake Fire Department from the vehicle and was taken to Mercy One North Iowa by the Mason City Fire Department with minor injuries.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Fertile fFire Department, Clear Lake Fire Department and Mason City Fire Department.
