ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Iowa State ran into a very tough Arizona State squad Saturday in the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship Game, losing to the Sun Devils, 45-19.
The game between #16 Iowa State and #12 Arizona State was played in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium, in front of 55,889 fans. This was Iowa State’s second appearance in the Dr. Pepper Big 12 Championship (2020).
Things looked bright in the beginning, as Iowa State’s opening drive touchdown was the 15th touchdown drive of at least 10 plays this season, tied for the second-most in the Big 12.
Matt Campbell is now 63-51 at Iowa State and 98-66 overall as a head coach.
Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel each have 30-plus receiving yards in 19-straight games, the longest streak by any FBS duo since West Virginia’s Tavon Austin and Stedman
Bailey had 27 straight from 2010-12.
Higgins and Noel each have 50-plus yards receiving in seven games this season, tied for the second-most in the country.
