Lucille “Luci” Blanchard, 74, of Clear Lake, Iowa passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Private Service will be held at a later date.
Luci was born in Belle Plaine, Iowa on July 12, 1950. She graduated from Greene High School. She attended college to begin her career as a nurse’s aide. Luci first worked at Good Shepherd and later began working at the I.O.O.F. Home. After numerous years of working she successfully retired at the age of 67. She also helped her husband as a bookkeeper for Northside Auto Sales, Basic Saw Service, and their Spring Valley Sheds Dealership.
On May 2, 1981, Luci married Dennis Blanchard, the couple spent 43 happy years together. Luci and Dennis were very devoted to each other; working, cutting wood, remodeling houses, and going to garage sales together. She was an avid collector of dolls. Luci had a special place in her heart for cats, all of them were her favorite, Buggs, Lucky, Strawberry, Mercedes and the twins Muffy and Tuffy. She even took Strawberry to visit her mom in the nursing home on a daily basis.
Luci will be remembered for being a devoted wife, as well as a giving and compassionate person. She was even able to give in death as an organ donor.
Those left to cherish memories of Luci are her husband, Dennis Blanchard; step-children, Chrystal (Jarret) Pederson, Misty Schroeder, and Dwight (Patty) Blanchard; 13 step- grandchildren, Ethan, JC Allen, Elainea, Kadin, Christopher, Carter, Emma, Jasmyn, Lilly, Owen, Peyton, Asher and Koulter; step-great grandchildren, Izabella and Alexandria; as well as other extended family and friends.
Luci is preceded in death by her father, Frank Spinler; brother, Allen R. Spinler; step-father, Bruce Avery; and many extended family members and friends.
