CHARLES CITY – A Nashua man police say was totally out of compliance with required insurance, license and registration was busted for drunk driving in Charles City.
Charles City police conducted a traffic stop on October 26, 2024. At 2:18 AM that morning, officers stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Shadow Avenue. An investigation was conducted, and as a result, the driver, 38-year-old Zachary Niles Loy (pictured at top) of Nashua, was arrested on the following charges:
– Operating while intoxicated (first offense)
– Driving while suspended
– No insurance
– Expired registration
Loy was jailed and soon released. He faces a November 15 preliminary hearing.
Loy was guilty of drunk driving back in 2007 in Chickasaw county, after charged by the Nashua police department. He was given one year of probation, two days in jail after most of the term was suspended, and was ordered to pay $2850.89 in fines and fees to Iowa courts.
