CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man accused of ramming his car into a discount store and then fleeing is set to face a judge.
According to Charles City police, on October 18, 2024, at 6:05 PM, officers responded to an incident at Dollar General, located at 700 Hulin Street. Upon arrival and investigation, officers learned that a vehicle had allegedly struck the building and left the scene. Officers soon located the suspect vehicle and driver. Placed under arrest was 65-year-old Kevin McCloud of Charles City. He was charged with first offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control.
McCloud (pictured at top) was jailed, and now awaits a hearing before a judge, set for the morning of November 8.
McCloud was charged with public intoxication earlier this year in Charles City and was later found guilty. He was ordered to pay $290.00 in fines and court fees.
