Aaron Jon Wilson, 49, of Manly, IA, passed away unexpectedly October 21, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 26, 2024 at the Buffalo Run Golf Club, 23342 265th St, Nora Springs, IA 50458, from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm. The family requests that all attendees come in their best Iowa Hawkeyes or Minnesota Vikings apparel.
Aaron was born March 11, 1975 in Mason City; son of Delmar and Barbara (Blanchard) Wilson. He attended Mason City High School and for nearly a decade has worked as a maintenance planner for Lehigh Cement Company.
Aaron was a hard working man; always looking to take care of his family. His ambition knew no bounds and he had a competitive streak a mile wide. He was a sports fanatic; especially golf and softball. Any game he caught on TV; you could hear his commentary both good and bad depending on how his teams were doing. His favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings. While he had his tough guy exterior; deep down it wouldn’t take more than a phone call for him to be there if his kids needed anything. When he cared; he cared deeply and everyone who knew him could tell you the same. His big heart led him to bringing in a stray and his pets always received the best of everything he could offer. He spent a lot of time keeping his lawn in pristine condition; grumbling about picking up leaves from the neighbor’s trees. Aaron’s personality, drive, and passion for life were unlike anyone else. He was truly a one of a kind character.
Those left to honor his memory are his children Kelli (Jacob), and Treyjen Wilson; brother, Andrew (Annette) Wilson; uncle, Dick (Deb) Blanchard; aunt, Rhonda (Dave) Worthy; as well as many friends and extended family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Delmar and Barbara; brother, Joel Wilson; and grandparents Howard and Dorothy Blanchard.
