MASON CITY – NIACC’s Pablo Salas was selected as the ICCAC Division II men’s soccer player of the week for the week of Sept. 2-8.

Salas is the second NIACC player this season to earn ICCAC player of the week honors. The Trojans’ Edoardo Alessandrini was the ICCAC and NJCAA Division II goalkeeper of the week for the week of Aug. 22-25.

In a 7-0 shutout win over John Wood CC, Salas recorded his first career hat trick.

Salas leads the Trojans in scoring with five goals. He is also tied for the team lead with three assists. Salas has six career goals and four career assists.

NIACC (5-0 overall) returns to action Saturday at home against DCTC in a non-conference contest. Match time on the NIACC campus is slated for 1 p.m.
