Seth David Zrostlik was born April 29, 1982 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of David and Lorna Zrostlik. He attended Forest City High School graduating in 2001. He furthered his education at North Iowa Area Community College and Buena Vista University, graduating in 2006.
Seth was married to Hilary Rinnels October 10, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City and to this union, two daughters were born, Brinlynn and Elyse. These three were the center of his world.
For the past twelve years, Seth had worked for Dean Snyder Construction as a construction Superintendent. He was deeply passionate about his job and upheld values of showing up, working hard and achieving outstanding results. To him, his work was not just a job, but a commitment to excellence and his colleagues were like a family.
Seth loved the outdoors, including riding in his ranger, snowmobiling, tinkering with engines, and collecting ‘treasures’ which most would have considered junk. From a young age he enjoyed working with his hands and had a remarkable talent for fixing things. He cherished the time spent on his grandparents’ farm, especially with his “Papa.”
His greatest accomplishment in life was being a DAD, he loved his girls and being a girl dad, they were his everything and he was incredibly proud of that! He never missed an opportunity to support them in whatever activity they were involved in. He was most happy being outdoors with them, especially when it involved anything with a motor and going fast.
Seth was known for his sense of humor and wit and enjoyed making jokes with those around him. He was always willing to join in on small talk over a few “daddy pops” (aka blue smoothies). His infectious smile could light up any room. He was a loyal husband, father, son, brother, friend and mentor to many and will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Seth is survived by his wife Hilary of Forest City; two daughters, Brinlynn and Elyse; parents, Dave and Lorna Zrostlik; siblings, Rhiannon (Michael) Lillquist, Nic (Ashley) Zrostlik, half-brother Jason Hejlik; father and mother in law, Randy and Laura Rinnels; brothers-in-law, Nick Rinnels and Jake (Holly) Rinnels; nieces and nephews, Josette and Jonathan Lilliquist, Harrison and Charlie Zrostlik, Talan Rinnels, and
Reese Rinnels. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and his dog, Kallie, who he adored.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Caroll and Marie Herndon and Pete and Imogene Zrostlik, and dog “Sexy Lexy”.
