Brian Harry Miner, 66, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 in his Mason City, Iowa home.
Per Brian’s wishes his body has been cremated and no services will be held at this time.
Brian was born on March 10, 1958, to Marvin and Phyllis “Nadine” (Helms) Miner of Truro, Iowa. He was a graduate of the class of 1976 at Interstate 35 High School. On April 4, 1981, he married Anne Movick, and together they built a life they cherished. Their journey began with a coin flip that led them to Arkansas, where they lived for seven years before moving to Pineville, Missouri. Over the years, they were blessed with a son, Gabe and a daughter, Sarah.
Brian’s career began as a substitute teacher and surgical technician in Arkansas. He later dedicated 35 years to Stone Container, which later became WestRock. Even after retiring, Brian stayed active, working for the Post Office for over five years.
In his leisure time, Brian and Anne enjoyed attending auctions and taking Sunday drives. He also had a love for spending time on Lake Superior and was an avid collector of tape measures and rulers. Above all, Brian was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose love for his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Those left to cherish memories of Brian are his wife of 44 years, Anne; children, Gabe Miner and Sarah Miner; grandchildren, Alex Santa Cruz, Abby Miner, and Eli Miner; siblings, Ronni (Ogie) Baker, Susan Tripp, and Rick Logan; sister-in-law, Debra Movick Lucas; step-dad, Robert Brown; beloved cat, Lula; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mark Miner, Tim Miner, and Melissa Heitner, nephew, Atom Tripp.
