CHARLES CITY – After a tragic incident took their lives last week, a Charles City couple will be remembered at a celebration.
According to Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home, a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the lives of John and JoAnne “Jody” Flint, of Charles City. They passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The celebration will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City, Iowa.
The couple were involved in an incident on August 22, 2024. At 11:53 PM that day, officers with the Charles City police department and deputies with the Floyd county sheriff’s office were dispatched to a 911 call in the 1000 block of Court Street. A property at 1001 B Court in owned by JoAnne Flint, property records show. Two deceased persons, who later were identified at the Flint couple, were found.
It was later reported that the incident was a murder-suicide.
