Lois Watnem, age 86 of Humboldt, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the West Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. Services are currently pending. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Humboldt.

Lois Jeanne Watnem, the daughter of Irl Raymond and Edna Eileen (Bylund) Bell, was born on October 27, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa. Her family moved around a lot due to her father’s job and eventually the family moved to Ottosen where she graduated with the class of 1955. On November 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Allan Harold Watnem. Together the couple raised three children: Jennifer, Jeffrey and James.

Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottosen, Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Humboldt and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing Mexican Train with her friends and BINGO at the West Bend Health and Rehabilitation Cener. Lois loved her family and spent as much time with her family and friends as she could.

Left to cherish Lois’ memory are her husband: Allan; children: Jennifer Gatton of Humboldt, Jeffrey Watnem of Dakota City and James Watnem of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings: Shirley Simpson of Wilmington, Delaware, Warren “Rick” (Beverley) Bell of Phoenix, Arizona, John “Jack” Bell of Red Oak and Sheryl Franzen of Stanton; brothers-in-law: Dennis Carlson of Red Oak, Quentin “Bruce” Watnem of Humboldt and Randall “Randy” (Bonnie) Watnem of Humboldt and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Irl and Edna Bell; sisters: Phyllis Poe and Susan Carlson; brothers-in-law: Paul Watnem, Steve Simpson, Larry Franzen and Donald Poe; sister-in-law: Dorothea Watnem and her uncles, aunts and cousins.
