Janice Ann (Kelley) Turnbull, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday July 26, 2024 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE Mason City, Iowa.
Janice Ann Kelley was born in Mason City, March 27, 1943 to Robert, Frances (Fredricks) Kelley. She graduated in 1961 from Nora Springs – Rock Falls High School. Janice married Jim Turnbull in 1961 and later the couple divorced. She had various jobs over the years including working at surgical associates, Humbolt Physicians, Midwest Storage, Casey’s in Mason City on South Federal and NIACOG.
In her spare time Janice loved reading, crocheting, and watching college football, college basketball and professional football. She spent time with family and friends, Marilyn, Sharon, Karen, Lenard and Carol.
Highlighting her life was any time she spent with her sons and family. Janice wrote her own obituary and wanted to say, “Thank you boys and daughter-in-laws for being so good to mom. So proud of you, definitely my pride and joy”.
Those left to cherish Janice’s memory are her sons, Troy (Ann) Turnbull and Scott (Sara)Turnbull; grandson, Lucas Garl; grand-dogs, Cireous, Blue, Jazz, Dax and Bella; sister, Joyce Fountas of Mason City; brothers, Jim Kelley of Evansdale; Jeff (Lisa) Kelley of Rockford; sister in-law, Connie Kelley of Nora Springs; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Janice is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, Jerome Kelley, brother-in-law, Jim Fountas, sister in-law, Joetta Kelley; aunts, uncles and father of Troy and Scott.
