OBIT: Jane Marie Morris

Jane Marie Morris, 69 died Friday, July 19, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, Rochester, Minnesota. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.

Jane Marie Morris, 69 died Friday, July 19, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, Rochester, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. North, Clear Lake, with Pastor Melinda McVey officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family in Jane’s memory.

Jane Marie was born on May 23, 1955, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Shaw) Harris. She attended elementary to eleventh grade in the Clarion School System. Jane moved to Clear Lake, Iowa; she graduated from Clear Lake High School in the class of 1974.

On June 22, 1973, Jane was united in marriage to Lindsey Morris; to this union three children were born. Jane worked at the Clear Lake Bakery, Sperry Univac later known as Unisys and was a Certified Nursing Aid at Oakwood Care Center until her retirement due to her liver transplant.

Jane enjoyed trips to the Casino, canning and watching movies on the Hallmark Channel. She really loved baking and selling her baked goods at the local Farmer’s Markets. She was a member of the Clear Lake Methodist Church and she regularly attended Galilean Lutheran Church with her family.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Susan Starrett, Dara (Leroy) Klink; grandchildren, Vladimir Starrett, Anna Starrett, Kion Morris, Mazikeen Morris, Joseph and Kyle; brother, Ray (Donna) Harris; sister-in-law, Glenda Harris; special friend Gary; along with several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents Henry (Clara) Harris, her still-born baby boy; former husband, Lindsey Morris; sister, Caroline (Kenny) Ammerman, grandson, Shane Starrett; brother, Dean Harris and her son, Michael Morris.
