Wilrena Kay (Wike) Price went to her heavenly home on Friday, June 21, 2024 at her home in Mason City, Iowa under the care of Mercy One hospice and daughter, Teresa Wike.

Wilrena (Willy) was born on August 27th, 1947, Hampton, Iowa the youngest of child of William and Louise (Friedrichs) Junker. She grew up on the family farm east of Hansell, Iowa. She was educated at Hansell Consolidated and Hampton Community Schools, graduating in 1965. During her senior year she was a bookkeeper and used this skill in Mason City at Marigold Dairy. Where she met William (Bill) John Wike.
On May 18th, 1968, Willy married Bill Wike, creating a blended family, when Teresa Marie was born 1968. Her family started in Zearing, Iowa, where their love of horses was sparked by life-long friends, Crocheck’s and Matney’s.
They moved around central Iowa, Geneva, Thornton, and in 1978 developed a home in Burchinal. Though the years, the family was active leaders in 4-H and CC Riders saddle club. During this time, Willy worked at E.F. Johnson, then Rockwell Collins a division of Boeing Avionics.
In the fall of 1995, Bill retired, due to health issues, and lead Willy to Zapata, Texas. Where she was a “Winter Texan” for almost 30 years, in this small boarder town, an hour south of Laredo. Willy bought, fixed up, and sold several homes. In the summers, she attended Iowa flea markets, rummage sales, and auctions to acquire items to resell in Texas. Over the years she also drove Pony Express courier routes and delivered automobiles to north Iowa Dealers.
Willy met Cecil Price, the love of her life, in Zapata. They were married in Hampton, Iowa on May 26, 2013. Sadly, Cecil passed away shortly after the wedding.
Willy’s local congregation is Christ church in Mason City and King’s Way Church in Zapata. She loved her religious families and numerous friends she found in these assemblies.
Willy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother LeRoy Junker, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws. Left to carry on her memory is daughter Teresa Wike (Nevada, Iowa), step-sons William (Billy) Wike (Albuquerque, New Mexico), Rick Wike (Bemidji, Minnesota), Steve Wike (Clear Lake, Iowa), Chris Wike (Mason City), step-daughter Rebecca (Becky ) Sogard (Mason City), sister Marie Card Eilderts (Hampton), sister-in-law Judy (Huff) Junker (Dumont, Iowa), and their families.
