Richard David Selby, 50, passed away on June 14, 2024.
Richard was born on December 4, 1973, to Darrold Selby II and Rosemary (Swigart) Selby in Des Moines, Iowa. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and getting in his wind therapy on his bike. Richard enjoyed going on vacations, working on his woodwork, and hanging with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his family, but mostly loved being with his grand babies.
Richard is survived by his wife of twenty years, Jamie; his three beautiful children, Zachary (Haylee), Dylan, and Brianna; his grandchildren, Kynsleigh, Paisleigh, and Sawyer; his mother, Rosemary; his father, Sonny; and his sister, Christina (Jamie).
Richard is preceded in death by his step-dad, Jerry; his aunt, Debbie; his grandparents, Mary Lou, George, and Frank; his uncle, David; and his cousin, David.
Family will be greetings friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross; 1701 8th Street SW, Altoona, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:30 at the church. Family would like to encourage those who attend to dress casually. Burial will be at Rising Sun Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, following the funeral service at the church and will include a large motorcycle procession to the cemetery.
