Becky Anderson, age 66, of Algona, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by loved ones. Memorial services will be 10:30 am on Thursday June 6th at the Lone Rock Presbyterian Church, with burial in the West Bend Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4 – 7 pm Wednesday at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Becky’s service will be livestreamed via the Lentz Funeral Home website.
Becky Lynn Struecker, the daughter of Gordon and Margaret (Bonnstetter) Struecker, was born on February 10, 1958 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. In 1976 she graduated from West Bend High School. Becky earned her secretary diploma from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1977. On April 9, 1977 Becky was united in marriage with Dwayne Anderson at Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Becky served many people through her daycare, Tommy Tuckers, West Iowa Bank and the Kossuth Regional Health Center. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in West Bend. Becky enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She cherished her grandchildren and looked forward to spending time with them.
Left to cherish Becky’s memory is her husband of 46 years, Dwayne; daughters, Amanda Swangel of Des Moines, Mindy (Cory) Thilges of Lone Rock, Jessica (Thomas) Ricke of Belmond and Krista Anderson of Algona; 10 grandchildren; mother, Margaret Struecker of West Bend; and sisters, Donna (Bob) Sonksen of Curlew, Karen (Clarence) Siepker of Laurens and Kathy (Bud) Sorenson of Storm Lake. She was preceded in death by her father.
