Lyle Kenneth Schock was born on December 24, 1925, in Pilot Grove Township, MN to Theodore and Cora (Garrison) Schock. He died on May 9, 2024, at Homestead in Estherville, at the age of 98 years.

Lyle enlisted in the United States Army in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946.

On June 17, 1944, he was united in marriage to Mary Collison in Blue Earth. After their marriage, the couple made their home in rural Blue Earth where they farmed from 1949 until 1959. Then they moved to the Estherville area where they continued to farm.

In his free time, Lyle enjoyed being a pilot, fishing and hunting and was a member of the VFW.

Lyle is survived by his children, Bill Schock and his wife, Susan of Estherville and their children, Greg and Suzy Schock, Pam and Darren Tromblay, Nikki and Brian Varcoe, Coleen and Scott McDowell, Kevin and Sarah Schock, and Sara and Jason Frame; Rita and Rex Wisner of Stephenville, Texas and their children, Rebecca and Brian Ray, Jeffrey and Jenny Wisner, Stephen Wisner; Sr. Ruth Schock, O.S.F. of Sioux City, Iowa; Jane Prokop and her husband, James of Canby, Minnesota and their children, Michael and Jodi Prokop, Christine and Jason Grussing, John Prokop, Regina and John Ranney, Angela Prokop, Patricia and Tom Paulsen and Julie and Albert vanWyk, Susan Prokop; David Schock, and his wife, Sharon of Chandler, Arizona and their children, Matthew and Jennifer Schock, Brian and Jenelle Schock; Mark Schock of Estherville; 38 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Preceding Lyle in death are his wife, Mary, one daughter, Mary, and one grandson, Justin Wisner.
