Felon allegedly fires shots, disrupting Fort Dodge neighborhood, now faces serious charges

FORT DODGE – A convicted felon illegally in possession of a gun allegedly opened fire in a Fort Dodge neighborhood on a recent afternoon, now he’s behind bars facing serious charges.

Following a shots-fired incident on March 8 in a Fort Dodge neighborhood, the Fort Dodge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division continued to follow up on leads and gather more information. As a result of this investigation thus far arrest warrants were issued for Michael R. Turner (pictured at top), a 34‐year‐old‐male of Fort Dodge.

On Friday, March 29th, members of the Fort Dodge Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop at 1st Ave. N. and N. 18th St. in Fort Dodge. One of the occupants of the vehicle was identified as Turner, and he was taken into custody on the following charges:

* Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (C Felony)

* Possession of a Firearm as a Felon (D Felony)

Investigators are continuing to follow up on this incident.
