Dennis Lee Shipman, 73, died on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from complications of Diabetes. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. A military salute will be held at a later date.

Dennis graduated in 1969 from Mason City High School. He was drafted into the Army on June 3, 1970, and sent to Vietnam. He was proud he served his country. Dennis was united in marriage Jill Huff, and they had a daughter Brandi. They later divorced.

Dennis loved to repair motors on old cars and even worked on his motorcycles. He was quite good at that. He worked for heavy equipment companies moving dirt. Dennis worked for Al & Dicks Wrecker and Crane services as a wrecker driver and mechanic.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Brandi Shipman of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Marlene Hepperly (Duane) of Mason City, Dee Bryant (Brian) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; one brother, Marvin Shipman (Becci) of Pineville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hoffman (Louie) of Mason City, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Violet (McIlrath) Shipman; and brother, Louie Hoffman. We remember Dennis as always doing it his way. We thank the VA system for taking good care of Dennis all these years.
