Irene Mae Ballantyne, 100, died Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, Iowa.

A private family graveside service was held with Lay Minister Mark Doebel officiating at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Iowa.
Irene Mae Odom was born July 4, 1923, in Kabool, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde Everett and Mildred (Loeckle) Odom. Irene was united in marriage to Norman Jay Ballantyne on April 1, 1945, in Mason City, Iowa; to this union two children were born.

Irene was a former member of the Ventura United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, crafts, playing 500 and country music.

Irene is survived by her daughter Karen (Gene) Frahm; grandchildren Sara Frahm (Brad Thompson), Matt (Sarah) Frahm, Mindy Frahm, Brittany Ballantyne, Erin Ballantyne, and Ryan Ballantyne; great-grandson Chase Frahm and her sister Jaunice Bull.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde (Mildred) Odom; husband, Norman J. Ballantyne, son, Alan Jay Ballantyne; great- grandson, Everett Frahm and her brother, James Odom.
