Brian David Owens was born October 6, 1970, in St. Louis County, Missouri; the son of Stanley and Diane Owens. He grew up and attended school in southern Missouri.
On May 7, 2004, he was united in married to Neva Leininger in Algona. They had three children together: Maxwell, Bo, and Kaleb.
Brian was a dedicated worker who embraced a variety of trades throughout his life, including carpentry, cement work, and well-drilling.
Brian found joy in many simple pleasures of life. He had a knack for cooking, creating delicious meals. In his leisure time, he could often be found engaged in friendly games of cards or dice. Music was another passion of his, and he could often be heard humming along to his favorite tunes. He also had a gift for bringing smiles to people’s faces with his witty humor and storytelling.
He died Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Algona. He was 53.
Brian is survived by his wife, Neva; children, Ashley, Kirsten, Amber, Kendra, Alyssa, Nicholas, Maxwell, Bo, and Kaleb. He is also survived by grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
