AMES – No. 10 Iowa State is set to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the only scheduled meeting between the two schools this season.

The Cyclones have won three-straight Big 12 J games, including a pair of road games at Texas and Cincinnati. Iowa State’s 8-3 record through 11 games is the best Big 12 start since the 2000-01 team was also 8-3, finishing 13-3 with a Big 12 regular season title.

Iowa State has won 14-straight games at Hilton Coliseum, tied for the ninth longest active home winning streak in the country. ISU and Samford are the only two undefeated teams in the country at home with at least 14 wins.

Iowa State is 25-1 under T.J. Otzelberger when four or more players score in double figures.

This will be the 46th matchup between the Red Raiders and the Cyclones. Texas Tech took the lead in the series last year with an overtime victory in Lubbock. ISU has dominated Texas Tech at home over the all-time series. When ISU hosts the Red Raiders, they hold a 15-6 record, including a 14-6 record inside Hilton Coliseum. Coach Otzelberger is 2-3 in his career against the Red Raiders. Texas Tech Head Coach Grant McCasland is no stranger to Hilton Coliseum. As a player, McCasland’s Baylor teams went 0-2 in Hilton Coliseum and 1-2 overall against Iowa State. In a 64-42 Cyclone victory in 1999, McCasland went 0-for-5 from the field and grabbed a pair of rebounds in 17 minutes.

NEXT UP: AT NO. 3 HOUSTON (FEB. 19 – 8 P.M.)
J The Cyclones hit the road on Monday, traveling to Big 12 co-leader No. 3 Houston. Tipoff has been pushed back to 8 p.m., as the game will now air on ESPN as part of “Big Monday.” It will be the second meeting between the Cyclones and Cougars this season, as Iowa State won 57-53 on Jan. 9 at Hilton Coliseum.
