SAC COUNTY – An Iowa truck driver remains missing since November of last year, and a reward in the case has been significantly increased using American Rescue Plan funds.
In the afternoon of November 21, 2023, the Sac County Sheriffs Office and the Lake View Police Department began an Investigation into the whereabouts of David Schultz (pictured above), 51, of Wall Lake. A further search was continued on November 22, 2023 by several law enforcement agencies, local fire departments, and volunteers. He remains missing to this current date.
Sac County Crime Stoppers, Inc. manages funds used for law enforcement investigations in Sac County, Iowa for the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, Sac City Police Department, and Lake View Police Department. This Facebook page has been created in order to spread information regarding Sac County Crime Stoppers to a wider audience. $25,000 has been approved by the Sac County Board of Supervisors. According to the minutes from the session: “At the request of the County Attorney and County Sheriff, it was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve an application for American Rescue Plan funds in the amount of $25,000 as reward for information leading to the location of David Schultz, the missing truck driver. Ayes all, motion carried. This reward money will be available through November 2024, due to ARP regulations.”
At this time, a reward for information leading to the location of David Schultz OR information leading to an arrest and consequent conviction in this case is being offered in an amount UP TO $27,800. This total includes the $25,000 ARP funds (available until November 2024) and ongoing contributions that the community has provided to the Sac County Crime Stoppers account for David Schultz specifically.
