Judy Eleanor Harris, 79, of Mason City, IA, passed away February 5, 2024 at the IOOF Home in Mason City.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA 50401. Burial will take place at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Judy was born in Mason City on November 12, 1944, daughter of Harry and Lilian (O’Green) Anderson. She graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1962 She held a number of positions over the years: 10 years with Shopko, 15 years with AC Nielsen’s, 15 years with North Iowa Fabrication and 38 years with H&R Block. Judy was united in marriage to Raytion “Ray” Harris September 19, 1964.
Family was everything to her. She devoted much of her time to taking care of those she loved. Every part of her world revolved around her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She lived for the seasons; her home was always decorated appropriately for the time of year. Judy had a heart of gold and had little regrets in spoiling her grandchildren. She was well known as the “neighborhood mom”; her love even extended past children to the neighborhood cats.
Those left to cherish her are her son, Jeff (Mica) Harris of Nora Springs; grandchildren, Jemma (Cassidy) Cox, Zachary Harris, Caleb Harris, and Noah (Madeline) Harris; great grandchildren Vera Harris and Scarlett Harris; sister, Nancy Sliger; brothers, Roger (Deb) Anderson and Alan (Sharon) Anderson; sister-in-law, Sharon Anderson; life-long friend, Mary Margaret Graf; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.
Preceding her in death are her husband of 56 years, Ray; parents; son, Michael Harris; brother, Jerry Anderson; nephew, Darren Sliger; and brother-in-law, Jim Sliger.
