Audrey Dole, 90, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the church cemetery. A scripture service will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Visitation will follow from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Surls Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Falls American Legion Auxiliary, Iowa Falls American Legion or St. Mark Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Audrey Louise Dole was born on May 3, 1933, in New Providence, Iowa to James and Minnie (Hall) Copeland. She graduated from New Providence High School in 1952. Audrey was united in marriage to George Wellman until he passed away and then later married Richard Dole. Audrey worked at Union Witten Bank as a teller and bookkeeper and then as a cook for the Ellsworth Hospital and Iowa Falls High School. She lived in Hardin County her entire life.
Audrey is survived by her children Karen Dole of Mason City, Diane Konicek of Urbandale, Donna (John) Robbins of Iowa Falls, Edward (Lynette) Dole of Omaha, Nebraska, Cynthia (Kenneth) Chizek of Clear Lake and Melissa (Troy) Patterson of Iowa Falls, sister Carolyn (Arland) Lepper of Hubbard, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands George and Richard, siblings Harley and Velma Copeland, Geraldine and C.V. Keith and son-in-law Gerald Konicek.
