Beverly Bangs, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Eldora Specialty Care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Alden United Methodist Church with a private family burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural Dows. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Beverly Jean (Unger) Bangs was born on June 2, 1932, to John and Dorothy (Ward) Unger. She grew up in Dows, Iowa.
Beverly married Melvin Bangs on December 31, 1950. They lived on a farm north of Alden and had three children.
Beverly was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church. In her younger years, they belonged to two card clubs and loved to play cards and were members of many church groups.
Beverly loved going to the family cabin in Clear Lake, going to the grandkids and great-grandkids basketball games, softball games, concerts, and dance recitals. Her last words were, “When I die, don’t feel bad, have Pailyn do her happy dance. I’m finally home.”
Beverly is survived by her daughters Becky Bangs of Edgewater, Colorado, and Penny (Jerry) Price of Iowa Falls, grandchildren Jason (Rachel) Jedele of Iowa Falls, Paul (Kylie) Price and their children Kenlie and Pailyn Price of Iowa Falls, Nick (Shana) Bangs, Dana Bangs and daughters Vivian and Eloise, Kate (Scott Nelson), daughter Natalie, daughter-in-law Jane Bangs and Jake Whitney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, brother Jim Unger, son Brian Bangs and special friend Volney Christensen.
