Women’s College Basketball: #5 Iowa Hawkeyes defeat Nebraska Huskers, 92-73

National Player of the Year candidate, Caitlin Clark, notched 38 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists against NU. Only eight of Clark’s 121 career games have come against Nebraska (6.6%), she’s exploded for at least 30 points in all eight games. Clark has netted at least six three-point field goals in five consecutive games which is the longest active streak nationally. Since 2009, no player has recorded more games of 35+ points, 5+ assists, and 5+ rebounds. She has done it 15 times. It was her 53rd career double-double, she is now sixth on the Big Ten’s all-time list. She leads all Big Ten active players in career double-doubles.

Clark is now sixth on the NCAA’s all-time 3-point field goal list.

Iowa has won their last six games following a loss. Iowa hasn’t dropped back-to-back games since a 2-game skid spanning Nov. and Dec. 2022.

The Hawkeyes have won 11 out of the last 12 meetings against the Huskers.

In eight of the last nine Iowa wins over Nebraska, the Hawkeyes have scored 80+ points.

It was Clark’s 49th career game with 30+ points in her career, the most in men’s or women’s college basketball history over the last 25 seasons.

UI is 9-1 in home games this year and a perfect 5-0 in conference play.
