Donald Trump ruthlessly mocks Kim Reynolds for failed endorsement, then Nikki Haley’s Indian heritage

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds may never live down her ill-fated endorsement of Ron DeSantis.  She's finding out that until she grovels harder to Donald Trump, he will punish her like a hungry Iowa child asking for a summer lunch.

MANHATTAN – As Donald Trump commutes back and forth between his rape trial in New York and campaigning in New Hampshire,  Kim Reynolds and Nikki Haley are reeling from a torrent of insults he’s unleashed today.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds may never live down her ill-fated endorsement of Ron DeSantis.  She’s finding out that until she grovels harder to Donald Trump, he will punish her like a hungry Iowa child asking for a summer lunch.  We all witnessed Reynolds proclaim on FOX “News” she would support the ex-President hours after Trump crushed the Florida Governor by 30 points in the Iowa Caucus, but that hasn’t proved to be enough to satisfy Trump.  In a belittling, humiliating social media post today, Trump toyed with Reynolds’ tranquility, posting, “I hope Sununu’s endorsement of Nimbra has more strength than Kim Reynolds’ Iowa endorsement of DeSanctus!”  She may not leave the Governor’s mansion for days after that smackdown.

Kim Reynolds likely feels hurt and dismayed, but not surprised, that Trump would punish her so viciously for being a traitor to his ambitions.  Look for her to drop Ron DeSantis soon and invite Trump back to Iowa to proclaim it was all a temporary mis-understanding and voraciously lick the bottom of his boots as her husband tosses Chinese-made red hats into a crowd outside an airplane (because he will fly away minutes later).

Donald Trump is letting these two women have the business. Just like he did to a woman in a dressing room at least once.

Also embedded in Trump’s onslaught was “Nimbra.”  Everyone has understood this clearly mis-spelled reference to Nikki Haley’s old monicker.  She is formerly known as Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, now using her middle name as her first name and her married name as her last name.  She is Trump’s main competition in the Tuesday New Hampshire primary, and he has her locked in the crosshairs.  Most are taking the “Nimbra” word as an attack on Nikki Haley’s Indian heritage.  She has spoken eloquently on her life as a “brown girl” (see CNN video below.)  Trump may be insinuating that Haley is embarrassed that as a Republican, she in not white and is possibly trying to look more caucasian than she is so she can get that all-important White Nationalist vote.  That is a possibility, of course it could all not be true at all.  Or, maybe America isn’t that racist, because Nikki Haley certainly is confused about the enthusiastic young pale boys marching with lit torches and chanting racist remarks.  And the rise of gangs like the Proud Boys that tried to help Trump overthrow the 2020 election.

Now, as Kim Reynolds tries to pick herself up off the mat after getting floored by the former President, and saying nothing in return, in contrast, Nikki Haley is fighting back hard.  She now claims Trump is way too much of a liar to get anyone’s vote.

“Another reason we need to move on from Trump: too many lies,” Haley retorted on her social media, somehow finding the moxie that eluded her all the way through her time in Iowa.  It wasn’t long ago that Haley said Trump was truthful and great to work with.  She may realize that her campaign needs to fight for votes instead of portraying itself as MAGA-lite.

Next, Haley says Trump wants to destroy the lives of senior citizens by gutting Social Security.

“I want to save Social Security. Trump wants to cut benefits by letting it go bankrupt.”

Look for this feud to get worse as Tuesday approaches.   Just in the news all of the sudden are stories that Haley has been cheating on her husband for years.  Trump is inoculated to such claims and almost revels in them, so what will stick and what won’t is up to the Haley and DeSantis campaigns.  We all recognize, though, that Trump won’t hold back, and his competitors don’t have the thick skin he does.
