IOWA CITY – An Iowa woman became so irate, according to police, that she phoned up a hospital and dropped threats, causing the facility and nearby schools to lockdown for safety and leading cops to her door to arrest her for terrorism.
At 8:43 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, Iowa City police say they were informed of an agitated individual making threats over the phone to a specific Mercy Hospital clinic. Iowa City Police worked with Mercy to assess the threat. In accordance with their protocols, Mercy Hospitals locked down their facilities in response to the threat. Regina Schools also locked down. Iowa City Police have not received any information that a threat has been made against Regina Schools, but safety was paramount.
As a result of the investigation into threats, Iowa City Police have arrested Stephanie R. Robinson, 47, of Iowa City.
Robinson faces one count of Threat of Terrorism, class D felony.
