Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball team rises to No. 2 in AP Poll

IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa women’s basketball team is ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Top-25 released on Monday.

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team is ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Top-25 released on Monday.

The Hawkeyes have been ranked in the Top-5 since the poll came out since Oct. 17. Iowa currently owns the longest active streak in the AP Top 5 at 12 consecutive weeks.

Iowa has 324 appearances in the AP Poll and the Hawkeyes rank 23rd for all-time appearances.

The Hawkeyes are coming off their 13th victory of the season by 20+ points. Iowa snapped No. 14 Indiana’s 13-game winning streak on Saturday with a, 84-57 victory. Iowa last started 17-1 in the 1995-96 season and is 3-0 against AP Top 25 teams this season.

The second-ranked Hawkeyes will host Wisconsin on Jan. 16. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. (CT) inside a sold-out Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will broadcast on Peacock (subscription required) and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
