Marvin Tripp, age 79, of Burt passed away on December 21, 2023 at the Kossuth Regional Medical Center in Algona. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday January 4th at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Burial will take place in the Burt Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Wednesday January 3rd at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Marvin’s services will be livestreamed on The Divine Mercy Catholic Parish’s YouTube page.
Marvin Dean Tripp, the son of Everett and Henrietta (Chihal) Tripp, was born on January 4, 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1963. On January 7, 2006, Marvin was united in marriage with Donna Nohrenberg at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Marvin was a self-employed Electrician. He enjoyed riding around in his golf cart with Donna and Sweetness, their dog. Marvin also enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, splitting wood, fishing, playing Cribbage and following the Minnesota Vikings.
Left to cherish Marvin’s memory is his wife of 17 years, Donna; children, Steve (Holly) Tripp of Cambridge, MN, Bob Tripp of Adel, David Tripp of Waterloo and Tracy (Larry) Haase of Spirit Lake; step-son, David Harlan of Hampton; six grandchildren; brothers, Bill Tripp of Burt and Lenny Tripp of Emmetsburg; and mother-in-law, Cindy Johnson of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Preuschl; and a brother, David Tripp.
