Jenny Leigh Baas, 67, of Armstrong, passed away on December 18, 2023, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Jenny was born in Buffalo, NY, on September 1, 1956, to Gordon and Jacqueline (Robertson) Johnson. She attended college in Arkansas, where she was certified as an x-ray technician. While on a hayride in Arkansas, she met the man who would be her best friend, and love of her life, Jerry Baas. The two were married not long after, on February 18, 1984. Together they had three children: Wilbert, Carl, and Kirsten.

They later moved to Armstrong, where they would spend the rest of their lives. Jenny was active in Nazareth Lutheran Church for many years. She taught Sunday School, loved to crochet, was a voracious reader, collector of knickknacks, enjoyed gardening, camping, and was an excellent cook – especially of sweet things. She was an adoring grandmother and loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Kirsten Johnson, Wilbert (Mika) Baas, Carl (Shannon) Baas; her grandchildren, Austin (Heather) and Dylan King, Xavier Rivera, Sakura, Jasmine, Jerry, Janissa, Teagan, and Micah Baas; her father, Gordy Johnson; brother, Todd Johnson; sister, Marsha Walker; and stepbrother, Kevin Gaut.

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline; stepfather, Dale Gaut; and in-laws, Wilbert and Margaret (Schmidt) Baas.
